Manitobha Healthcare

In Manitoba, everyone, including newcomers, can get free healthcare. You don't have to be born in Manitoba. To use this service, apply for a Manitoba health card with a Personal Health ID Number (PHIN). With this card, you can access healthcare all over the province. Manitoba's healthcare is managed by the Insured Benefits Branch of Manitoba Health and Seniors Care (MHSC). To start, you'll need your Manitoba health card.

Eligibility for Manitoba Health and Seniors Care (MHSC)

  • All legal newcomers to Canada can get a Manitoba health card to cover their medical expenses.

  • To get this card, you need to prove that you're in the country legally and plan to live in Manitoba for at least 183 days each year.

  • Once your application is done, your coverage starts on the 1st day of the third month after you arrive in Canada.
